A local area store posted a "spoiler" on Facebook today that the TIE Defender is scheduled for a May 2014 release and "introduces stunning tactical possibilities with a white, four-speed Koiogran-turn". I can find nothing online to confirm this and they didn't post a source, so I am skeptical but optimistic about this. Is there possibly a print trade publication or something that they might have seen this in and may be quoting? Anyone else spotted this yet anywhere other than as speculation in one of the myriad of discussion threads on the topic?
TIE Defender: White 4 K-Turn Rumor
I'd think if such a thing was out there we've seen it posted here.
Would be interesting though..

You would think. But that being said, I would not discount this all together because of the language. I could totally see the "possibility" of a white K turn via a Elite Pilot Upgrade. Think of it as another version of AR. Depending if it is a one time use or a static upgrade, it could be very expensive! Such an upgrade would be awesome for the Tie-I Ace Tetran Cowell.
Edited by Stone37No, I think this is for the 'never before seen on a dial before' aspect, not an elite pilot trait..
Would be interesting though..
It fits with what they said, and would make the Defender pretty interesting to fly. So I wouldn't say that it's completely possible that this is what the Defender is getting.
But I'd think that if there was a source of this info out there, we've of heard about it here.

Agreed, I am always dubious of 'rumors' especially considering the source, but sometimes someone has connections.
No, I think this is for the 'never before seen on a dial before' aspect, not an elite pilot trait..
I hope not (if this rumor has any shred of truth to it) for a few reasons. This should be an expensive ability and it would be amazing to be able to slap it on a Tie-I or A-wing!
The rumor can only be substantiated by the number of Bothans that died to bring it to us.

Well, as the Defender was to recieve the never before seem ability, it wouldn't make sense to make it an EPT.. and if it was then any pilot with an EPT slot could use it.. not very unique then is it...
i think his dial will be
1 K-turn red
1 hard left and right green
1 straight green
1 bank left/right green
2 hard left/right
2 bank Left/right green
2 straight
3 Bank left right
3 straight green
3 hard left right
3 k turn red
4 straight green
5 straight green
5 k turn red
and the one not seen move that would make 22 moves on the dial that can contain 30 moves if we would have 5 hard turns and banks just sayin that there is enough space left to fill so its not impossibruuuu that he has so many moves to chose from ^^
but i really think that it will have yellow colored moves aswell for evades or the pilot gains 1 evade token for flieng green that would explain the evade tokens the 2 in the picture we saw and i assume that the other named pilot has the 0k turn move cause some guy did that with the tractor beam installed in the defender
Edited by SoulCrusherExI disagree with the 1 K turn, I dont think that will be it. That is only Cowalls ability, and to give it to a starfighter I think is extreme. I also dont think this 'yellow' move will be it either, there isnt anything I've seen that even remotely hints at such a maneuver.
I do think, howerver, there is some merit to this idea of gaining an evade when performing a green maneuver.
It would be awesome to have a TIE that is as awesome as the defender is, with some hard 1 green turns..

we are talking about the tie defender the best equipped and developed tie fighter in this whole star wars universe a one man army a veeeeeeeeeeeery agile fighter that could single handly beat the falcon it has his own hyper drive so that he can operate on its own without a base or fleet he has to go back. his weaponry is his super +
but all these goodies arent cheap they were extremely expensive so it never reached mass production if it would have the rebels never had stood a chance. and was seen veeeery rare and only the most elite pilots were chosen to fly it and the man who used defenders in its fleet was no other than admiral thrawn. so the 1k turn is something it could do. i know that cowall will have the ability to do it but only because he is such a great pilot.
I doubt it will have a 1 straight, much less a 1 k-turn.
I doubt it will have a 1 straight, much less a 1 k-turn.
time will tell what he is real capeble of
and just sayin that he filled with my thoughts only 22 out of the 30 possible moves on the dial i guess 16 or 18 is the highest right now ties have 16 and the x wing 15 moves
I think it's highly illogical to give a pilot a special ability and then immediately turn around and give the move to a ship.. it just doesn't make sense to me.
I think that a white 4 K turn is a viable option, especially for such a high maneuverability ship as you say it is. A stress less K turn is huge in this game.
It's all speculation.. it would be nice to have the new move spoiled from FOG but we shall all have to wait and see.. my money isn't on 1 K turn though.. just doesn't make sense to me... but I am willing to admit, I may be wrong...

I don't think the never seen before maneuver will be a white K-Turn. How silly would that look if this thing just flips around all the time. It would sure be effective though. No idea if i would call something like that overpowered, because you can field only 3 defenders at 100 points with not many options. But it would make them too difficult to shoot at by other ships nearly as costy as themselves. I also think that it would not match the fluff of the ship too well.
If i had to give a tip, then it would be a 3 hard turn green maneuver. I think no other ship has it, it would not be completely broken and it would match the fluff better than a 1 green turn or a White K-Turn.
The Defender is maneuvrable, but It is even faster than it is maneuvrable.
A 3 green Turn would make it able to come around in large turns while pushing the limit constantly.
Edited by ForceMcould it be a 6 forward?
That would help with the.. faster than any other ship.. aspect. You would have to use 2 maneuver templates together to do it though.. how likely are they to implement that idea?? Not saying it can't happen, but would they want to make a move that uses 2 templates to do it...
I like the green 3 hard turn as well that has some merit. I also like the white 4 K turn...
but would they want to make a move that uses 2 templates to do it...
Seeing how they're including a range 5 ruler with the CR-90. I don't think they'd put in a 6 forward without including the template for it, and there's no room in a fighter expansion for such a thing.
FFG seems pretty consistent on making sure you have everything you need to use a ship, so I can't imagine that they'd include 6 forward without including the template, and using 5+1 just doesn't seem like something they'd ever do.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet the bank that the move isn't new... just the color.
That would be my thought, still something never seen... be it 3 hard green, 4 white K turn, or anything else new and different...
on the picture from the defender we see a green 5 so i guess that one of the pilots have get an evade token while performing green monouvers

yeah rumors......can you trust them?
i heard a rumor that the aces pack was on a boat......did anyone actually see them get put on a boat?
i think we would of seen an update by now.
The rumor can only be substantiated by the number of Bothans that died to bring it to us.
The number in any case would be many.
