Z95 and Defender Modification

Apologies (half hearted ones at best) if this has been discussed before (I'm sure it has) but I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered sifting through the old posts. Plus it's all fun, right?

What do we think that modification that comes with the Z95 and Defender is? “Munitions Fail...” something. Failsafe? Gotta be something to mitigate the effect of your missiles missing hasn't it? Something for those peeps saying the Z95s won't work cos they'll die before their missiles hit - but if you have something to help those two do manage to fire them, they become better value don't they? Hope there's a generic pilot who can take Push The Limit as well.

I think 'Munitions Failsafe' is indeed more than likely the name of the mod, but what it does is still best guess. Safe to say it'll modify something to do with attacks, more than likely with secondary weapons :)

Depending on the cost (and if our hypothesis about it's effect is correct), this could bring more use out of A-Wing's/Bombers etc. A very welcome addition to the game, if so!

I think it already does.

I would like to see something, which increases the effectiveness of missiles etc while increasing the risk

e.g. if talking about munitions failsafe

removing missile failsafes:

- add an attack dice or increase range to the whole 1-3 interval instead of a subset or a (partial) reroll (whatever)

- if your roll complete blanks the missile explodes before leaving the launcher and you receive a hit

something like that, could also be interesting in other contexts.

I saw another thread that was guessing it allows you to automatically loose a missile/torpedo upon your ship's death, assuming you have a possible target and an active lock. However the card does appear to say "When attacking," which would make that not the case, but I can't make out any more text. Can anyone else read it? FFG always releases deliberately low res images.
