i fell in love with the idea of medals to start. then i thought, "why not use the ones from the games?" the game, so far, has done a great job of making the ships awesome, why not take it to the next level and reinforce the existing rewards of the pilots? the rebels had those "patches" and the empire had medals. even han & luke got nifty medals. my theory: ask for awesome and you will get awesome.
so help ask for some awesome!

Man! I had forgotten about those medals in the games. They would make great tourney awards.

I think some sort of chewbacca medal for "best copilot" or "wingman" - since poor chewbacca himself didn't get one in A New Hope.

imagine if you went to a regional, national, or world event and every entrant got a 'tour of duty' medal, one for each tourney. imagine how many people would go to get the medal. how many cosplayers would compete just to have a medal?
