Double Stress Movement

By Jock, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi guys, another quick question for you which came up in a vassal game.

If someone has a stress token, he puts down another red by mistake so i know the opponent gets to choose a non red movement of their choice, but if that move is green, does the other guy lose his initial stress token?

Thanks

Yes. If the opponent chooses a green maneuver from the dial, then after the ship has completed the green maneuver, the stress token would be removed.

Thanks for the swift answer.

My friend that I play against has run into this a few times. He'll have a stress token, and add another. So, being the bastard that I am, I try and run him off the playing field. I've done so twice now. Ain't I a stinker??

I have another question sort of related to this - When using Tycho, would this same rule apply?? He is the only pilot I'm aware of that can still do actions while stressed - would this allow him to take on an additional stress without the penalty??

He can do actions while stressed, but cannot do red maneuvers still. So even with Tycho, revealing a red maneuver while he has a stress token results in the opponent picking a maneuver for him.

Heehee. That could be awesome - running him off the board with a 5 straight maneuver..

I had a match at Worlds where a frazzled opponent about to go 0-3 tried to K-turn a pair of Y-Wings on consecutive turns without thinking. I had already set one dial to shoot Y-Wing #1 off the map, and was in the process of setting dial #2 to land him somewhere awful, when he threw in the towel and conceded.

I felt kinda bad, but I'm not gonna lie - it was kinda fun, and I sort of wish he'd waited until after he did the moves to concede, just so I could see what happened.

To be fair, the times I was able to catch my friend off guard with this was when we had been playing for 5 hours or so, so we were both pretty tired at that point, and many mistakes were made. His were just a little more catastrophic than mine. Although, to be fair, I flew one of my own ships off the edge, when I miscalculated a last minute turn..

I've never seen anyone screw up and try a red maneuver while stressed before, but I did have a game where the asteroids destroyed more points of ships than the 2 players combined.

Sometimes, I put red maneuvers on my stressed ships on purpose, to show my opponent that even if he's the one moving my ships, he will end losing anyways...
