Greetings, we just continued our RtL campaign. (close to start of silver). We enjoyed to kill the Lady with a combined Teleport/Telekinese move of our Grandmage Thorn, but some questiens arose later. Hopefully you have an answer for us:

1) Dark relics

Is there any possibility to get rid of a darc relic? I mean beside of dying. Are they removed after the dungeon? Else it seems like the best OL move to give the mage the red-dice-melee ring and just leave him alone. He would be reduced to be another Boggs.

2) Voodoo Doll

The Voodoo Doll cannot remove Curse Tokens, right? We used it that wqay in the past, but the new curse token remover from RtL made me rethink.

3) Crushing Blow

Not really a question, but I would like comments. I think one of the best RtL strategies is to attack the player with the lieutnant with the +15 thread. Place him save in the back and kill an item... Did anyone try it? Share your thoughts...

What's the exact text of the Voodoo doll? I was under the impression the whole point was to remove Curse Tokens. Am I wrong?

And yes, Crushing Blow inside of a Lt encounter is *very* powerful, one of the reasons I think they removed it from the game (well, tried to remove it). Since the Overlord can *pick* his cards, that's a guarenteed item kill in an Lt encounter. In a dungeon, it's more random, chance that Crushing Blow won't happen right away, or at least not until a bunch of threat is generated...

The house-rule I've seen that addresses this is a random draw for Lt encounters, rather than letting the OL pick the cards he wants.

There is no way to get rid of a Dark Relic besides dying. If the OL doesn´t kill the weakened mage, then the players should do it (or he jumps into a pit/lava several times). Attacking your fellows is allowed.

On a side note: Telekinesis was removed from RtL in the latest FAQ, and Crushing Blow limited to one per deck.

I believe the curse doll in my version of the game says "discard after equipping at the start of your turn to remove up to 2 effect tokens" - definitely not a way to remove dark relics.

Curse Doll: "Discard after equipping at the start of your turn to remove up to 3 effect tokens that have been placed on you." Since Curse Tokens are effect tokens, you 'can' remove these with the curse doll. Check the FAQ 'somewhere'.

Remove Curse (RTL Item): "Discard after equipping at the start of your turn to discard one dark relic that you have equipped."

Indeed. I should read the details of the card. I stopped after "Remove curse"

Curse Dolls definitely can remove curse tokens and I believe that was in fact their main intended purpose...hence the name.

Remove Curse is relatively expensive, but may be worth buying to get rid of a dark relic if you don't want to give up that conquest to the OL...or at least gives you that option since money is really way too precious in rtl to spend on something like that.
