I ended up buying 2 additional Gozanti sets because of he red dice armed variant. Its amazing how much damage can be done with a single red attack die when your opponent doesn't want to or can't spend defense tokens on it. Edited August 14, 2016 by Wes Janson

How does randomly determining who goes first fix anything? All you do is prevent half of the fleets that want to go first, from going first. We both agree second player should go last, since that prevents last/first. As it is right now, the players that bid hard get to determine who goes first or second. I think it requires a great amount of skill to look at your opponents list and understand what they

    2 of each (although I still need to pick up a CR90 & AFMK2)

Maybe you took what he said this way but I think it was in reference to players whose list relies solely on that single tactic to win. Maybe it is specific to my area but I do keep reading a lot of complaints about it from other areas. Maybe you don't agree but I think it's a good idea to at least listen to the players who have established themselves as high skill

Imo they are the best in the game for it.

could be a bit powerful still but i like it. I am hoping wave 8 alleviates this a bit. I think if I played rebels id play h9s on AFs and that should easily deal with them. H9s on Arqs could do similar work i guess if you want to out meta the meta.

It's more than that...it's that extra die you get to shoot at the opponents objective ship that is main draw for me. Yes, keeping the points lost to a minimum is important, but giving me more dice in the process to kill you faster...yes please!!!

@ Brobafett: You aren't wrong, and that is not a bad set up either. I was just working out ways to keep activations up, but still have something to deal with those threats. @ MandalorianMoose: That is true, OE is powerful, but on a Mk2 it's not so much of a loss. Even threatening one, might cause the opponent to rethink his deployment and give the heavy hitters time to do their jobs.

You're misunderstanding me. I like the objective, I don't like that you can make your objective ship an 18 or 23 pt non-combat ship for such a powerful effect, no other red objective comes close. Every other objective has a small drawback your opponent can exploit if he's good enough(or you aren't). Advanced Gunnery doubles the cost of the super ship and gives a weaker bonus to the enemy

My question is what fleet, if built and flown well, CANT win in either first or second depending on the other players bid? Why does a coin flip invalidate the "strategy" (right or wrong, mind you) that my fleet needs X points less than yours to beat you, so I want to have the ability to choose when I go? You also have 2 different ideas you're talking about. You can debate the merits

Aye, spot on Idie, mate. I initially only spotted 2, but there is an aft set, so it looks like the Hammerhead's whole compliment is 3 twin-laser cannons (I'd sincerely doubt those are turbolasers given that they aren't any larger than an X-wing's cannons and no significant mounting. They may even be proportionally smaller. I mean, that's not much for firepower, and only 2 turrets look to be

Also I want to be player 2 with Superior position, contested outpost, and opening Salvo....

Also planning grabbing 3 each myself, here. I want to make my already extensive collection feel like a real FLEET, with support craft and everything.

I agree first is powerful, and last/first even more so. Your idea to remove bidding and select a person at random to have initiative doesn't fix the problem. Rather, it makes it more difficult to make a composed fleet and play to your strengths. Demo Avenger wants first. Defiance Ackbar wants second. Understanding fleet builds is important in building your own list so you can construct a fleet in order to beat those. How

Man, I want to watch Clon play with a Wall of Gozanti that just rolls forward across the entire map width...

The point of the coin flip, and the activation pass idea is to make it so first player cannot be built for. I think it is better for the game if everyone builds to be able to take 1st or 2nd and still be confidant in their fleets ability to win. the validity of my ideas should not hing on my ability as a player. My point should stand or fall on its own merit

I really don't think what you're saying here adds up mate... Slug fests aren't strategic.... like... at all... Using every mechanic to your advantage to plan the overall battle not just the interaction between two individuals is strategic. I don't see how you can claim the person taking advantage of a mechanic that can bring them victory is the less intelligent one. Isn't one of the greatest truths of conflict

One of each to start with, I'll use those to figure my strategy and how many I think I need.

Might make them too good at blocking, which isn't something I'd like to see.

For me, it'll matte rhow much I have to pay in "Over the Border" Taxes before I decide... 1 of each is a Minimum... (I should be able to skip lunches for a couple of weeks to pay for that much)... But anything more will probably need a serious commission.

Maybe it means something else in table top gaming than I'm used to from video games but "Git Gud" is almost always used in a derisive manner there. Cowboy's definitely not saying he can't win I think he's saying the game is losing steam for him because so many people (and maybe this is just a local meta problem) are running 6 and 7 activations killing 1 squadron or 1 small

I like to deploy them to where they will end up trailing the main conflict. Since they're slicing takes place after movement, they can trail bigger ships and jack them up for the next turn
