Good choice. They look to be the right size for a Flotilla -
want to know about the Munificent most of all because it has a Fleet Support Team* slot. Fleet Support being on a 60-75 point medium ship is going to be a big change compared to 18-28 point flotillas, so I'm curious what FFG has in mind for how to use the Munificent. Imp/Reb flotilla: definitely. On CW faction ships: more of a maybe. Edited December 3, 2020 by Green Knight -
Ahsoka to combo with it. Though saying that the Resupply cards don’t consume the dial isn’t the entire story. Either you use a token from the Resupply card to refresh it or you have to not use a command dial to get a token to refresh it. One means you only get 4 tokens, one means you do still lose 1-2 dials keeling it going. EDIT: One last thought. If your flotilla’s sole job is to provide tokens for your main ship (SSD, hawk) and not support for multiple ships, the Resupply cards become worse than Comms net. Edited December 3, 2020 by Church14

Move Ozzel from BCC flotilla to either ISD or a Demo. Replace 2 Bombers to 1 Firespray (so you'll have at least 1 Rogue -
think the hard part of that to believe is, essentially, the fact that things are horridly mismatched on what we already know. All we know so far is that the Resurgent Class is much larger than an ISD... Let alone much larger than a Victory... And the only Resistance craft shown are on the Irregular Squadron / Flotilla size... Its a very mismatched set. Not at all like the TFA Core for X-Wing, where Fighter vs Fighter makes much more sense. At least 2, if not 3 new Ship classes, all of an appropriate size would have to have been effectively "hidden" from everyone so far to make that so. Its hard. I mean, I don't mind being wrong on that front, for example... I wouldn't like the outcome (I prefer the overt in-and-around GCW setting, and would prefer to see more things based there before -
make a good point. There were A LOT of times I would add a flotilla to my fleet for activations and put Comms Net on there because “It’s 2 points -
Lisa needs braces! Flotilla nerf -
Yavaris was a stupid, game-breaking force-multiplier since day 1 of wave 1. And it only got worse as we got flotillas, comms net, and BCC. Toryn. X-wing attacks and shoots 4 blue. Oh no wait, X-wing shoots 4 blue, twice, with two reroll. So equivalent of 10 blue. Times 3. Compare to an assault frigate with FC. X-wing gets 5 blue with one reroll. Equivalent of 6 blue. Times 3. Add Ten into this. And for bombing, you don't really need may Bees or Scurrgs. IMO, Yav still good, less lame -
other. Nothing else, but if I were going to tack on an upgrade, it would be EHB. I often find myself throwing a pair of pinning A-wings with my Slicer flotillas, because the way the pacing goes in my games, both often want to go first -
Just to chip in. All ships are pretty good right now, things seem amazingly balanced, but there are a few things you may need to bolster smaller collections. Firstly, squadron packs. Squadrons are very important. Secondly, I'd look into the flotillas. They offer an excellent level of support for collections with less to choose from. They fill activations, provide support, and push squadrons... really the Swiss army knife of this game, not likely to kill anything with it, but super handy at everything else -
similar to Armada. Most games are only 3-5 ships per side plus a handful of fighters, barely enough for a flotilla...yet it does make you fell like an admiral controling a fleet battle from any of the SW movies. If they can mimic that, Legion will have the feel of a battalion level enagement, even though you technically only control a platoon -
doing pretty good on Armada, hence why im committed to keeping current. It hurts a lot less. At the moment I guess I need a second Rebel Squads 2 and I'd be better off with 1 more of each Flotilla. Maybe seconds on a couple other ships but nothing pressing -
This has been a total carp year work wise for me, but things appear to have finally turned the corner. And that means, it's finally time to start buying the stuff I've been waiting on, like Hammerheads and second copies of some smaller ships (I'm looking at you Raider and MC30 and flotillas), and finally getting the AssFrigate and a mk1 from shapeways to replace the Space Guppy. And, That Rebellion expansion as well (I don't care if it's not Armada, I need my fix damnit!) Edited August 19, 2017 by coastcityo -
third and possibly fourth Flotilla for each side, a third Hammerhead pack, a third Liberty, and 20 or so ISDs so I can reenact Endor -
Remind us if you would what kind of an upgrade Comms Net is. Is it on of the new ones only available to support flotillas or can you place it on a VSD? Edited April -
should. I'll consider switching Opening Salvo out for Most Wanted, so I won't be at a disadvantage if my opponent chooses the Red Objective. This is an idea I can get behind. I'll have to try it out at some point. This is true, but I wanted to build a Double Liberty that has Leia. I do use the Garm/Ashoka combo from time to time. I agree with the flotilla command. Though, in my area, the consensus is that until a FAQ states otherwise tokens stack with Leia's ability. So, the Comms Net is still usable. It's there to make sure the Liberties get maximum usage out their commands. Finally, something important I forgot to mention in the initial post: The VCXs are needed for Strategic -
assist with that problem.Edit: I should note that obviously would cause problems with the current Liaison setup, so if that's not your bag then that's understandable. In that case I'd consider Heavy Turbolaser Turrets because you're unlikely to get Accuracy results reliably to make the XI7s really do their job.And for what it's worth I think VSDs are hands-down the best Tarkin ship as of wave 2. Once flotillas show up, he might be making a comeback. Edited April 21, 2016 by Snipafist -
just me, or is anyone else pronouncing flotilla as floteeya in their head every single time they read it now? I am almost having a hard time thinking flo-tilla. I read this thread and see floteeya, floteeya, floteeya -
Pictured: a stack of flotillas awaiting the order to engage in glorious combat -
love that Gencon **EDIT FOR ACCURACY** had a 3 ship fleet place near the top. I think its safe to say in wave 6 a well designed 3 ship fleet certainly can find even footing with a 7 activation list because the points spent on quality are finally starting to balance against the points spent on quantity. Before wave 6 a naked flotilla was typically a better use of points than loading up on upgrades like flight controllers (or whatever) because it let you delay those fighters later in the turn. Now those fighters have something to do all 6 rounds, and the earlier you can gain air superiority the better. Balance is hard, but I am pretty happy overall with where we are. Here you go with some basic info and finishing order. Top 4 were: - Jeff Berling with his list from Worlds: Loaded MC80 with 4 flotillas, dominating by being second player and crushing it on objectives. - Double ISD with squadrons. ISD's had Flight Controllers and Boosted Comms to make sure their squadrons did WORK. - Sloane with a Glad+Vic+3Gozantis and Squadron Aces. Winning on positioning and alpha strike. - Sloane Aces with Boarding Avenger. Knocking out those tokens and punching people in the face. Jeff and his MC80 won the day! moodswing5537 goes to Moodswing by a hair! Moodswing (W) 162 || Ardaedhel (L) 140 That was a pretty awesome game of brinkmanship and shifting dangers that Moodswing played! He popped my Comm Nav flotilla in the nick of time to keep a critical nav token off of my ISD, throwing off my whole groove for the rest of the game. Very, very well played -
would think about putting Toryn Farr on AFIIB so the loss of BCC flotilla doesn't weaken you too much -
disappointed if flotillas are all that is released this wave. I think they are very cool and add a lot to the gameplay. I was mainly just curious if there was some slight possibility that they were saving some new products for an announcement at some large convention or something. (Or if they have something that ties into Rogue One that LFL has told them to keep under wraps for the moment
