thinking there are so many options, weapons, cards for the rebels that it's hard for the Imperial Player to compete, even more if the rebel players are very good.Is there any tips against very good rebel players on Hoth? We are going to start a new campaign, Rebels will play VerenaLokuMHDSaska or Gaarkhan or Biv. What is a good Imperial Class? What would you suggest? one of the newest, or one of the old imperial classes? I have no experience with the 2 new Imperial classes. And Rebel players are very very good, so I need a strong imperial class, even if not so fun to play. Not subversive tactics. Do you have any advice (for imperial class, but also strategy against specific new hoth heroes)? Thanks

think Jyn is an absolute beast. She destroys 5 health targets when she starts rolling mid-game and definitely late game. Her initial can be a little weak. Diala, Fenn, and Gideon are pretty much a standard. Then the next after that is whoever you feel. I agree, MHD-19 and you won't have enough damage in my opinion. I'd suggest Jyn, Mak, Loku, Biv, Gaarkhan or Verana. Any of those 6 with the other 3 are a good solid team

Biv's reward is that he gets +1 surge and pierce 1 on EVERY attack targeting a trooper (50% of the imperial deck). How is that junk
-
said 'most'2. My rebel players have yet to get that reward despite playing Biv 3 times. So I have yet to see it in action -
Thanks for the explanation! About "Biv and Saska are tier 2 heroes". what are so Tier 3 heroes

close with officers, he can kill two guys a turn. There's a lot of movement 4 guys, if they have to double move they're not shooting back. Movement 5 is really fast. RGC is really good as is, he just costs a bit high 1-2 ptsI like diala, her health is a liability for her cost.HoodieDM hits most of them pretty close I think., thanks for the post. Man I love biv and saska, but what were they thinking skirmish wise for them

This is my tier ranking:A+: Diala, Gideon, FennA: Mak, Jyn, Gaarkan, Verena, MurneB: Biv, Saska, Loku, MHD-19Not Sure Yet: Davith- Fenn only makes tier A+ with a specific item setup imo. He needs a 2 mod weapon with the blast mod and a damage mod. With those he is godly, if not, he is A tier. Jyn needs DL-44 or else she is only mediocre. Verena needs to be kind of a loot hog before she really shines (as she needs high damage to get kills/chain kills). She needs a strong ranged weapon and a cleave melee weapon, preferably both with mods.- I have only seen Murne played briefly, but she has been impressive so she is likely A tier tho not positive.- Saska could be C tier, but if you play her more as a hybrid and fully utilize her extra mod slot -
army, so I think some lists are still going to go for 6 pts of Gideon/3PO just because.I'd really like to see what the Weequay Pirates do and the characters which are supposed to be Merc or Merc/Rebel in skirmish. You could do Jabba and the Rodians almost with Greedo, Hired guns and the new Ventra or whatever his name is. I'm hoping the big hulking bodyguard is like what I imagined Biv to be. Loads of weapon options and tons of health to sift through

that different people are arguing different things.Loku is fine in a party because he can do his job, and that is kill things. But he is not top tier because there are other class A characters can also kill things, either more efficiently, more often, or have a similar rate of kills but are more survivable. Honesty, I guess he is more like class B+, since he is better than clear class B characters like Biv. Edited August 16, 2016 by Deadwolf -
trigger it consistently. Covert Operative is useful for getting the hidden train rolling, Elusive Agent is useful but shouldn't be prioritized, great as the last skill you buy in a campaign. I have not used force illusion or one with the force, but they look pretty terrible. If you have Fenn, Gaarkhan or Verena in your team, I would go Covert Op, Lightsaber, Blindside, Fel Swoop, Falling Leaf. If you've got Mak, Biv, or Loku, I'd go with Falling Leaf, Blindside, Fel Swoop, Elusive Agent. Edited August 18, 2016 by Tvboy -
surge abilities from their hero sheet and the weapon they use for the attack, and not from other weapons unless explicitly specified. The melee attack of Close and Personal does not use any weapon, so it can only use abilities that are explicitly specified to be usable for that attack (Crushing Blow and Vibrobayonet - regardless of which weapon it is attached to). Deployment card figures (which means every figure in the skirmish, including Biv) can use the abilities from the deployment cards for all attacks unless specified otherwise -
other Rebel cards don't ready during the "ready" step, only when the Rebel character activates -- she's now officially useless, except perhaps for opening crates- Gaarkhan: He can actually get some pretty good kills going, and typically is the last one to become wounded in our team, but as a melee character, he often finds himself unable to reach his target due to walls of bodies placed by the Imperial player- Biv: This guy is great when he's attacking one target, that's less useful when the Imperial player has six Stormtroopers on the table -
naturally, or the limited surge offerings).Mind you, I do not disagree with the potential damage output of the Deathhammer+DL-44, as it is there. I guess I have just been throwing dice so long that I have my preferences. As for MHD and combat, I have to admit I have thought about it as well. In the current campaign I am in, I am using Davith and MHD (the other players are using Biv and Jyn), and have been thinking about grabbing the Shrouded Lightsaber and passing the vibrosword over to MHD and turn him into a lovely little murderbot. Imperial. I guess I think of all spies as unreliable and behoven to the largest bidder. Some traits, I hope they never mix. Mercs should be the creature faction, Imperials should be the Vehicle faction, Rebels have more of the individuals, leaders, etc.My guesses:Weequay Pirate - Smuggler HunterShyla Varad - Hunter (I really don't think leader fits, maybe Brawler)Onar Koma - Brawler, Heavy Weapon (I like to hope that they make this guy what Biv was in my mind, weapons expert with 84 different guns on him at all times)Vinto Hreeda - Smuggler, Hunter the design team seems more about well-roundedness (which is good) so there may be a few more tacked on. I'm actually really interested in what position the weequay play as it seems mercs have 1 of everything (except force users) now. How do they stack up to wing guard - hired guns - trandoshans, what role

excited to have saved up enough Ovaltine labels to get Dengar last Hoth, but he didn't even get a shot off. Biv used his can opener and it was game over

these are some of the more well-known characters from the movies. I think we've discussed this before in some threads, you can change point costs, but you still want figures to be balanced. Adjusting abilities is also a way to do it. I prefer re-printing skirmish cards and including one of the reprints in each of the newer releases, until they are caught up. I'd love a skirmish Biv and Saska that were worth playing. Some of the Core ancillary figures are stuck as they are fairly cheap, but to a certain degree not as competitive as others. I think there's always going to be some that are better than others to take in the game. That being said, I think there also needs to be some higher point models, You shouldn't be able to take everything you want. That's part of balancing

Biv seems decent enough to be considered at times, the Hunter keyword helps in that respect with "Primary Target" now, and with more coming down the road I expect with Jabba's Realm. I've had good fun playing him and he can be really effective both taking a beating at times, and putting out some hurt with his melee then shooting attack. He's showcased quite well in a match against me actually (Battle Report 12) I wouldn't think to run him in most lists right now but I'd be up for trying him again. Gaarkhan I probably would agree needs something doing to bring him up to scratch, I think he "can" put out some hurt with charge and attack, however really you're almost always better just buying two Wookies for your points -
With Gaarkhan I had a crazy round where he went off and turned the game around I will document how later but I wouldn't want to rely on recreating that because it was so unlikely and up to that point he was a liability almost. Biv I like I just need to play more with him. It seems he is unanimously hated on here and I don't exactly understand
