Campaign:I like Biv although the revealed class cards are kind of mediocre. I am hoping for some heavy weapon synergy.Saska is quite cool, but she still has a long way to go to compete meaningfully with Gideon as support. Really hoping for a low cost class card that allows her to generate device tokens faster and/or at a greater range.Skirmish:Biv is pretty cool, I like him as a counter to the 14+ cost characters. I was hoping he'd be a trooper, but brawler/hunter isn't bad.I'm not sure about Saska, 6 points is a lot for what you get. Edited June 3, 2015 by Deadwolf -
Wednesday a friend and myself are doing the campaign for the first time, I'll be running the Rebels and I will be using 4 heroes in case one or two of our friends wants to jump in later. I'm looking for suggestions for a team, I have the core and Twin Shadows and I really want to use Biv and was thinking; Biv, Gaarhkan, Mak and Jyn any thoughts on that? Suggestions in heroes to run? I kinda want to use Diala but heard she's kinda bad at the beginning. Also, I don't expect my friend to go easy on me he introduced me to skirmish by using Vaders Fist first game, RGC next then Weiss after, haha! Thanks for any tips/ideas/suggestions -
None of the heroes are usable as "allies", this expansion nor core set. If you're not using Biv and you end up playing his mission in the mini-campaign, there is an alternate reward you earn (credit) instead of Biv's special Reward Card. As for Hero count, yes, 2 to 4 heroes, just like the normal campaign (2 heroes gain Legendary, 3 heroes gain Heroic). -shnar -
really don't get the point Tyler is making. The point isn't that someone can use Lando a year or more before he's released for legion. The point was that any model that could be used as a proxy for an existing Legion model, so only those units in wave 1 could be used. So IA Stormtroopers could be used as Stormtroopers. Fenn could be used as a generic rebel trooper. Biv could be used as a generic heavy trooper. If there were some sort of generic commander in Wave 1, many of the other heroes could be used as the model for the generic commander. The conversion kit would have a card called Biv Bodhrik but the stats on it would be exactly the same as the stats on the Rebel Trooper heavy upgrade would. So in terms of game mechanics they'd be exactly the same -
painted Twin Shadows! Here some Heavy Stormtroopers led by Kayn Somos! Artoo and Threepo, without them everyone would have been squished in the first movie! The new guys, Biv and Saska. This first time painter is a little proud (I know it's no big deal to you pros) of free-hand painting the Rebel symbol on Biv's shoulder.... but who's that guy next to him? None other than the greatest bounty hunter ever! I broke the rules and gave him a RED cape, because I like it better than green! Let's not forget the crazies -
surface Biv looks real cool. Instead of his class deck being 100% new skills, he can actually buy some special equipment with his XP within his class deck. I haven't really looked to see if the stuff is good, but one thing nice (if you spend the XP on Biv's stuff) is that it saves credits for other heroes -
some issues with the hero setup (can be still fun to play, but Subversive Tactics is very tricky to play against).1) There are two support characters (MHD-19 and Gideon)2) There are two melee-focused characters (Biv and Davith) Gideon is good because you don't need to spend credits to give him a new weapon. Some things to take advantage of: MDH-19 pulls Adrenaline Stims and focuses Davith and Biv. Buy one good weapon first, get Masterstroke for Gideon first, then Mobile Tactician. And ask if the imperial player could switch to some other class deck. Edited September 11, 2016 by a1bert -
Davith Elso is not part of the rebel group, the heroes could hear some battle noise at the other side of the cantina. It could be a small imperial patrol led by one of the remaining Grand Inquisitor coming to kill the jedi. If the heroes decide to help Davith and succeed then he could become available as a free ally (using the skirmish deployment card) for their next mission. Or it could be Biv resisting Kayn Somos attempt at arresting him for whatever reasons. Or it could be Han having trouble with some bounty hunter. Speaking of bounty hunters, besides black market sellers, there will also be some happy to help during the a future mission if the rebels are willing to pay the price (as an ally free of threat cost since rebels will have spend credits to hire him). If Onar, Shyla and Vinto are not part -
good and the forced movement is situationally useful. But the adjacent restriction is a fairly anti-synergistic since blast and demolish affect friendly targets, and 4 xp is a bit pricey. Overall, I am cautiously optimistic that we have a strong hero here, but it will still depend on some unknown factors. Most importantly, if Drokkatta's other 4xp skill is not strong, then the wookie will find itself in a similar boat as Biv. Also, both Fenn and Vinto have a skill that helps with single target dmg, if Wookie Wrath is the only single dmg card Drokkatta has, then it will really struggle vs high hp targets. And finally, if Drokkatta has no way to increase its endurance, then it may also struggle for strain, but if it doesn't need strain for anything other than Demolish/movement then it may not be too bad. It's starting weapon -
Acccording to the polls on BGG (why can't we have polls here?) the hero ranking is about: Gideon Argus - Fenn Signis - Diala Passil - Verena Talos - Vinto Hreeda - Shyla Varad (in that order). Of which the best 3 are all from Core. The bottom 5 are Drokkatta - Ko-Tun Feralo - Jarrod Kelvin - Biv Bodhrik - Saska Teft, all from HoTE and Twin Shadows. Some of the Imperial decks seem to be significantly better than others. Military Might is considered one of the best, though. Only thing I can think of is that you may try to optimize the strength and synergy of your spawns even better? Tough call. Edited December 5, 2017 by Findariel -
like your talk about biv. He should be 5 points with his 8 hp like vinto and his mediocre surges. He brings no utility on the table except dmg but he is basically a melee due to close and personal and his min range is 2. His traits are good. At 6 he is just a very poor onar

went all out, but only managed about 11 damage on him the whole game, then he recovered 2 damage and the royal guards came in to polish my guys off. Only survivors on my side: Boba Fett, who took 3 damage total! and elite stormtroopers.(6-40+ Loss) Wow. What a day, great games, huge variety of lists, and only one Vader and only royal gurads were with vader. There was Weiss, Luke, Biv, R2, 3P0, Keyan, lots of Boba's. I think it was a good mix. 10 people turned up and I came 4th with 6 game points and a high SoS. I got into this game because of Boba Fett, and he did not dissapoint. High speed, great dice, cool abilities, Mobile and just the best model to paint. Oh baby, bring on more skirmish!!! Anyway, thanks for reading this far, just wanted to share that -
Shrouded Lightsaber is interesting and imo, you get it first or not at all.The biggest benefit of the weapon is the fact that you can get a tier 3 weapon well before you are supposed to get one.But as time goes on, while it is better than force pike, it is not 3xp better. And unlike Biv who has nothing better to spend points on, Davith would be stronger in the late game with a conventional weapon like force pike and those 3 xp spent elsewhere. As a side note: it boggles my mind that we got a 5th tier 1 melee weapon but still only 1 tier 3. Pulse Cannon).I have used the Brawler Build and I liked it, it is very mobile, and is designed around a single powerful shot. Gideon -Support: Masterstroke, Called Shot, Mobile Tactician, Air of Command, T3 of choice -Offensive Support: Masterstroke, Hammer & Anvil, Mobile Tactician, Called Shot, Military Efficiency* -Weapons: High Surge is best (Sporting blaster)I've never used the Hammer and Anvil build, but like Norgath says, it requires a good weapon. Biv -Build 1: Crushing Blow, Vibrobayonet, Trophy Armor, Into the Fray, Shake it Off*, Advance* -Build 2: Crushing Blow, Vibrobayonet, Shake it Off, Final Stand, Into the Fray -Weapons: Wants both high dmg and decent surge chance (pulse cannon is best)I like getting Crushing Blow first because it allows you use it in the first story mission, but Vibrobayonet first is fine, the order is mostly preferential. C&P with crushing Blow+vibrobayonet together -
your luck. Give it to Fenn and rest easy knowing adrenaline rush is always going to work. Also I've had so many times where I just needed a dirge and didn't have it, that I can't get over that in demand surge ability. I do agree the timing on the practical solutions is a bit annoying though. Very counter intuitive. I usually use it after the attack because before is kinda dumb.Ah, biv. Has any hero exited me so much in the previews and then let me down so? I really think they needed to spend more time on him in play testing. Neither of him 4xp cards are amazing, though final stand is the better of the two. C&P makes him so strain intensive as it is that stay down and deadly precision are hardly ever useful. Deadly precision should have been a "once per round

another thread we started speculating on who each campaign hero would be in the Avengers. Sure, it's kinda silly, but it was also pretty fun, so I figured we could try to have a topic about it. Basically, it might look something like this: The Fellowship of the Holocron Murne: Gandalf- Leader, bosses everyone around, has long flowing robes and staff Diala Passil- Aragorn Biv: Frodo- Useless (Alternatively, Onar- has great power, but also extremely vulnerable) Gideon: Sam- Ultimate wingman, pushes himself to the limit to help his friends Mak: Legolas- Long range marksman, pointy ears Gaarkhan: Gimli- Uses an axe, probably both like salted pork Shyla: Boromir- Jarrod and J4X: Merry and Pippin- The Dynamic Duos! Bonus round- villains! Weiss: Sauron- looks down on the heroes from his perch, the overlord Sorin: Saruman- lends his powers to his machines of war Blaise: The Witch King- leader -
always hope they'll just drop Elite Skirmish versions of every single Campaign Hero in one glorious swoop. All the Heroes are Generic (grey) and releasing Elite versions that are intended to completely replace their old cards would make them playable, and avoid a bunch of "Skirmish Upgrade, sad Biv Only" cards on the board. It would make for a nice, cards-only, expansion pack and be a huge service to all the players that already bought the big boxes. Edited August 30, 2017 by Smashotron -
Sadly it doesnt work with quick shot as quick shot is triggered during your activation and therefore you get the movement points during your activation and they go into your movement point pool and aren't an interrupt ability. BUT you could do that move to get ouf Bivs Close and Personal or Garkhans Charge or move away if Gideon orders someone to attack

good thoughts. So where are we at? Gideon - Nick Fury Fenn - Captain America Diala - Thor Gaarkhan - Black Panther? Mak - ? Jyn - Spiderman? Saska - ? Biv - Bucky? MHD - ? Verena - Black Widow Loku - Hawkeye? Davith - Quicksilver Murne - Scarlet Witch? Onar - Hulk Shyla - Iron Man Vinto - ? Kot-Tun - ? Jarrod - Ant-man? Drokkatta -
Also one more thing about Jabba campaign, what class deck did you use as the imperial? My opponent had Hutt Mercenaries, which is an all-offense deck. You'll notice that the rebels also took four offensive heroes in Shyla, Vinto, Onar and Biv (and like I said, we built all of them for maximum damage) which sounds kind of like the situation you may have been in. What I found with this setup was that all of the missions usually felt really one-sided for one side or the other - even sometimes when that side ended up losing. What I mean by that is that for both teams their only real goal was to do as much damage as quickly as possible. If the rebels rolled well that meant that the imperial often had difficulty keeping any figures on the board. On the flip side, though, it also meant -
than that. Maybe it is actually pronounced "Chewracca" and "Ori Wan Kenori". Maybe many Rothans died to get those secret plans. Maybe that bald guy Temuera is playing is actually Rora Fett! This is also great. I'm a teacher too and may have to employ some of your methods in the future! Wow. I hadn't heard of Jib Dodger. Hilarious. In Imperial Assault (the first FFG game I got into) we have Biv Bodhrik. But Jib Dodger is better -
Endor boxed expansion will come out, or perhaps a second Hoth expansion, or I will break down and snag The Bespin Gambit, I will have to get another designated IA battlefoam case. *I will tend to custom paint, re-name, and do brief character bios of other rebels that the IA hero minis are being used for. To that end I have to figure out who my own "PC" is going to be... Maybe Biv repainted as a bounty hunter in arctic gear. He has little enough exposed skin that it could work. Call him "Tantos. You get a gold star if you know why. Other options for my personal avatar in battles include Davith or Obi-Wan repainted as a washed up old drunk. Remember the 90's? very little access to the amazing spy and trooper cards. I think most would agree the ranking was 1. Imperials 2. Rebels 3. Mercenaries. Then Jabba's realm hit, giving a third trait, "Hunter", to equal or surpass Troopers and Spies. Mercs got Shyla, Onar, Vinto, Weequays, and Jabba to go along with Greedo, Bossk, HK's, Ig-88, Boba Fett, and Trandoshans all with the Hunter trait. Rebels have alliance rangers and Biv. Imperials have the inquisitor. At this exact point, right after Jabba's hit, and right before the rule changes happened, I think the three factions were pretty balanced. I was personally running Rebels with Luke/eRangers to great effect, winning myself a regional tournament. Imperials were still around and still insanely popular, with elite Jets supplanting Heavy Stormtroopers, and Terro adding a new dimension to Imperial lists. People were still experimenting with Mercenaries -
provides a free block or evade that doesn't require an exhaust, and 3 health to a hero who spends health like strain. That makes it better than Biv's armour which -
duress with Bossk, 2 Trandos and eWing Guard (Gideon & whoever to fill out points)? Force users/abusers with Rebels Smugglers with Rebels I've even run an all Spy list with Rebels, I found some of the command cards to be lacking, but it could have been my poor usage. There are all kinds of themes, the only thing I would realistically whine about is overcost on a few popular characters (IG, Han, Chewie, Vader, BIV) and overuse of Gideon in all Scum and Rebel lists (He's almost too effective for his points
