Biv being Biv, though, no one would put it past him to get angry enough at an immobile object to make it personal -
feeling they want players to play Biv like a bull. Just rushing the enemy. Sorta like Gaarkan... Maybe Biv will be a mix between Fenn and Garararhkahan -
would try this: Verena, Biv, Loku, & MHD-19. Verena & Biv are your tanks, with Verena having some support functions. Loku is your dps (starts off slow/squishy, but gets going quickly). And MHD-19 is your full on support. He doesn't have the Gideon tactical support, but he will make sure your party survives a lot better than Gideon

should pull source material from each hero's side mission, as that gives more key details, such as Biv's hatred for Kayn Somos, and the fact that Biv may have actually been a stormtrooper hiimself. Edited May 2, 2016 by Fizz -
groups of normal stormtroopers and the like she just murdered them... and with the right upgrades she really didn't need the troopers to even be that close together to get massive chains of death (she killed 5 stomtroopers in one round once, the initial 2 being outside her own turn, and carrying her over a 1/3 of the map). She did have more trouble with individual tough targets, but then the players had Biv Bodrick to deal with them (anything less than 10 health and he would normally kill it in 1 turn... it became a running joke about the number of times he murdered Dengar, who usually only survived 1 turn). My guys only really became tenable when I started being able to field elite stormtroopers and snowtroopers, as they had enough health to make it hard for Verena to chain her attacks, and were still small enough ... that biv was normally wasted on them. Unfortunately by that point the two support characters (Loku and... the one from Twin Suns) had upgraded enough that they could actually fight as well. I found the reverse... the story missions tended to favour myself while the side missions tended to favour the rebels. I do think Loku is tricky, and starts off... underwhelming, but wuth the right upgrades and careful play he can be a real pain in the neck. I think early on one of the issues is that his +1 damage a shot thin is actually quite good, but it doesn't feel very active and so doesn't feel very satisfying to play. It makes it harder (our player didn't use the permanent evade thing, just tagging crates and tagging enemies), but I think if he could have more it would actually start to be overpowered -
allowed the Rebels to retrieve and control the objectives. Time ran out as 45 minutes seemed very short for a time limit! I killed Fenn Signus and only lost one Elite Heavy Stormtrooper squad but lost 29 points to 9 points. INCOMING TRANSMISSIONS (Kuat Space Station)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcqTnfAhGP4I had:Elite Stormtroopers (with Vader’s Finest) x2 and Elite Heavy Stormtroopers (with Targeting Computer) x2He had:Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, C-3P0, Biv Bodhrik, Saska Teft, and Elite Trandoshan HuntersWe each received 6 points from the relay stations. I killed his C-3P0, Biv Bodhrik, Saska Teft, and Elite Trandoshan Hunters and only lost one Elite Stormtrooper squad but I only had four Stormtroopers in the end – two Heavies from one squad, one Heavy from another, and one Elite! Luke and R2 survived as well. Another turn would have been interesting. R2, with Lucky, easily Dodged several shots while Luke -
Just started that in a mini-campaign. Saska, Biv, and Fenn. First mission went very well. The changing activation token and extra 3 health really made a big difference. It helps to be able to move the activation token. Biv gets two activations when adjacent to multiple enemies, saska gets two activations when she picks up a token and has to run past enemies to activate a terminal. Fenn takes the second token when he's a better option than either of the others. Worked wonderfully. Edited February 5, 2016 by tomkat364

find most of them to be interesting actually, maybe fenn is a little generic, and saska well its saska. And MHD actually appeared in the movies But Jyn is female han solo, Diala is as cool as kennan, Verena brings a strong female presence that is as though as a wookie. Biv and mak are heroic guerrilleros who could be interesting to see doing guerrilla against the empire(and exploiting maks dark past and bivs blood warrior tendencies). And gideon looks like Rex(a man can dream). And Gahrkan is a wookie So all in all the team could be fun to see doing a campaing in the form of a graphic novel Edited January 15, 2016 by Caverius -
playing a four-rebel campaign as one of the rebels, Biv. We lost the first 5 mission (but got partial win in the story missions) and then won the 6th mission solely thanks to Gideon getting Masterstroke, in Loose Cannon with the ATST, it was glorious bloodbath. I'm finding Biv somewhat lackluster, got Bayonet, Shake it Off, Into the Fray so far and only his starting weapon, we had some lousy item draws -
points are always close to objectives or where the rebels are. I have made good use of engineers before, but usually it's an elite. Last game was the virus upload side mission and I hid a guard in behind the eEngineer giving him +2 defense. I also had the fire at will agenda effectively allowing 3 shots in a row, which, with the help of the guards was enough to take an armored Biv from unhurt to wounded, then cause him to withdraw next round. > Stormtroopers only hit 100% of the time at Range 3 or less. Stormtroopers can move 4 spaces before firing, their effective minimum range is 7 which is half the length of most maps. In two campaigns that I've been Imp, I've had a stormtrooper not get accuracy exactly once and that was because I took a gamble on killing an echo base ... trooper who was at range 5 or 6 rather than damaging Biv who was at 2. And that wasn't even a stormtrooper it was a snowtrooper so didn't have a reroll. Edited February 11, 2016 by Union

could easily just ask my players to choose what archetype they were interested in and immediately reduce their options by 75%. Then, when it came to actually choosing the heroes, they'd only have to really look at the hero card. Also, while the Heroic feats are important, I think that separating the class system from the hero allows for players to choose their character and still include aesthetic in mind. For instance, Biv is a really cool mini and all, but his class is apparently pretty sub-par. If you could give Biv a better class and only have the abilities on his sheet be subpar, well obviously that wouldn't be most strategic decision, but it wouldn't decide the campaign at its start, either -
Biv player is quite effective in my campaign. Build him to get stuck in, with some defense bonuses and he's a monster. With CAP, the melee attack rolls a surge you cannot spend 67% of the time (until he gets the Bayonet Upgrade), so the Biv player should be spending that to recover a strain. Most players forget that -
Maybe this will help on your mood:https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2015/3/18/twin-shadows/Two new heroes of the Rebel Alliance join this elite team, offering their unique skills and services. The first new hero is Biv Bodhrik, a hard-bitten fighter and a capable guerrilla warrior. Biv is joined in Twin Shadows by Saska Teft, a brilliant engineer whose battlefield inventions can easily save the lives of those she works alongside. During a campaign, Saska can construct unique devices to help herself or her fellow heroes -
Came back with fresh eyes and saw ways to improve Biv, Saska and Loku. Biv Bohdrik - Close and Personal, [Special Action], 2 [strain]: Move up to 1 space, then perform a [melee] attack using a [ranged] weapon. Then, perform an additional [ranged] attack. Practical Solutions: While a friendly figure with a device token is attacking, apply +1[damage], +1[surge], or +1 acc to the attack results.// While performing an attribute test, a figure with a device token may reroll 1 die. Loku Kanoloa Set Your Sights: 2[strain]: Use during your activation to place 1 Recon token on a figure in your line of sight. // While -
Being mostly an Imperial player (2 campaigns as Imperial, 1 as rebels). My least favorite Rebels are: Jyn, Gideon, and Diala. However, I think the "ideal" group really depends on what deck you play against (unfortunately Imperial picks this after the Heroes are chosen). With that being said, I think you can break hero groups down like this: Gaarkhan, Diala, or Biv: All essentially melee characters, and high health and defensive abilities. I personally just can't quite figure out Gaarkhan, not sure how to build him, or how useful he really is (even though he is in every campaign). Diala I would argue is the best rebel b/c of how you can build her completely different as the campaign progresses. And I don't like having Gaarkhan and Diala, melee weapons are mehhh and two characters competing over them doesn't help. I really like Biv for his over

Biv / Fenn / Saska wouldn't be a bad group. Ideally you'd go with 4 people since 3 has some disadvantages (less starting Strain, Heroic only grants 9 health, and if the IP gets Weakness Revealed he can assign it to the player with 2 activation tokens). Fenn's tactical movement would help keep Saska close. Biv for all intents and purposes is a melee character so he won't be near Saska most of the time. Saska is really best with a long-range weapon, since she'll be resting a lot. Saska will be resting every other or every third turn, so most turns she'll only get one attack. Get her the E-11/DL-44/E-3 Carbine and load it up with mods with Gadgeteer. Get her something with some range so she won't have to move in close to take a shot (Marksman Barrel

Glad our boy Biv is getting street cred out here. I like your backstory man. It takes a lot of time and a good imagination to bring these characters to life. I could see him living your way in a parallel universe to my head cannon. I also like the Zeb and Kallus vibe from your Fenn and Biv's friendship. As always you are killin it @Rikalonius -
threat level), we decide to bring in Lando with -4 (Murne's ability) price so that Imperial player gets 2 threat, he brings elite Royal Guards and puts Stealth and the other attachment to them that makes them permanently Hidden. To hit them, one needs 1 accuracy with melee weapon and Hidden condition gives the attacker -2 accuracy. So, have to get at least 3 accuracy with melee weapon. Not easy. This makes Biv's Close and Personal worthless against them. And as we have Verena and Davith in the group too, we have very little possibility in killing them. And elite, virtually unkillable royal guards who get a free surge every time they attack are nasty. Lots of stun going around eating away our already sparse actions. In that mission it was also funny that we rolled so badly that a Junk Droid did more damage than ... like the Bespin campaign. Every mission seems to be filled with narrow paths that the Imperial can easily block. If the rebels can't clear the Imperials out of the way fast enough, the Imperial player has no trouble winning. The Imperial player himself laughed after reading the latest mission description and just said that "You're not going to have any chance in this." I admit that our group (Biv, Davith, Murne, Verena) isn't exactly balanced as it's very melee heavy and ranged attackers would have easier time hitting the enemies -
really not sure what to think of Biv. He's definitely an offensive powerhouse: Close and Personal's attacks average 3 damage and 1 surge and 4 1/6 damage and 1 1/3 surges, and since his surge abilities both add 1 damage, you can consider an uncanceled surge to be a damage, so an evade is only as good as a block. If his target has a single black die for defense, he'll average 6 1/6 damage for the two attacks. That's enough to kill a regular E-Web Engineer, Heavy Stormtrooper, Probe Droid, Snowtrooper (when we get Return to Hoth), Trandoshan Hunter, Tusken Raider, Echo Base Trooper (again, when we get Return to Hoth), or Stormtrooper, and even an elite Stormtrooper. If he's focused for the melee attack, that ups the average damage for the entire action to an even 8 after blocks, enough ... defensive ability that helps his durability, but it requires he be near multiple enemies, who would be wise to focus their fire on such a powerful but vulnerable threat. His traits don't give him a lot of command card synergy in Rebel lists (Diala and Gaarkhan are the only other brawlers, and I don't think there are any other hunters). He plays much better with Mercenaries, though -- maybe a list with Biv, 4 regular Trandoshan Hunters/elite Tusken Raiders, and R2-D2 could work -
hosted a casual skirmish night at my FLGS last night, and was delighted to get a call on the way there that my copy of Twin Shadows I put on hold was waiting for me, along with the new figure packs. Without giving it too much thought, I threw together the following list, just to get the feel of the new figures: Biv BodhrikSaska TeftC-3POR2-D2Elite Rebel SabsBoba Fett (via Saska's Shady Contacts ability) Command deck was a few standbys (Urgency, Take Initiative, etc.) with unique figure cards and some of the new cards thrown in for flavor. We played the new Mos Eisley Cantina map (with the "A" scenario where you get 2 VPs per interaction with a contact). Simple scenario, but actually a fun bar brawl. I lost against my friend playing a General Weiss/Stormies/Royal Guard list, which was kind of hilarious thematically when Weiss planted ... auto-include in almost any Rebel deck I build. And his special command card might be a game saver in the right moments. I loved playing with Boba Fett... I think we're gong to see a lot more Scum lists thanks to him. I don't know how he'll shake out in the long term meta, but man, is he fun to run around the board. Finally, at least for the moment, Biv has eeked past Luke as my favorite single Rebel figure. For 9 points, I almost wonder if he's under-priced. Close and Personal is a crushingly amazing ability, and having 3PO follow him around getting him focused every round just made it more so. We'll have to see how things go in the long run, but boy, as a first impression, he is a brillaint addition to the Rebels. Really looking forward -
stun, + 1 movement, and protector? probably not. But, what really separates them is the support of imperial officers. I'd like to see 4 wookies and 4 royal guards face off with each having officers. Anyway, back to the tournament- my first match was vs a 4x4. The game was a lot closer than I would have thought, and I might have won- but 4 focused Elite Saboteurs rolled a total of 2 surges. Biv did very well against the Royal Guards. Even when stunned, the fact that he could still use Close and Personal is nice. But, is one Biv worth 2 Wookie Warriors? Game went to time (I think Wookies are going to cause a lot of games to go to time), I was behind on points. Second game- Kuat Space Station- (the one where the objective gains 3 vp at the end of each turn)- full -
start this off, i started my first IA campaign last night as a reb playing 4 heroes. I chose to do it this way rather than 2 heroes with legendary upgrades based on everything I've read saying rebs CANNOT win that way. I'm totally up for a challenge but don't want to go against unwinnable odds on my first try. For Heroes i chose: Diala, Fenn, Biv, and Mak. The first mission went poorly for me. I started turn 1 running to go hit the terminal, and managed to open the door on my 2nd activation in round 2, however the door was immediately shut, and was a pain in the ass to re open. I managed to re open the door mid turn 4 and i just could not hit the terminals fast enough. i lost because of round count. the second mission was a side ... ready for that yet). So that being said i went for luke. The mission started well, with me spending extra strain to have 4 tokens secured and returned by turn 2. however i did so at the cost of allowing the imperials to gain 5. the threat bonus was a huge hit that i was not prepared for. all of a sudden i was fighting 4 red guards and vader. I used fenn, biv and diala as shields to rush the last 2 tokens with luke and mak winning the game by a narrow margin in turn 4 with only mak un wounded, and luke at 8 damage. Im looking forward to playing the rest of the campaign, but i feel like as a rebs you are playing a big game of Nazi Zombies, where you cant fix the walls. if you stop running to shoot or heal then -
Campaign:I like Biv although the revealed class cards are kind of mediocre. I am hoping for some heavy weapon synergy.Saska is quite cool, but she still has a long way to go to compete meaningfully with Gideon as support. Really hoping for a low cost class card that allows her to generate device tokens faster and/or at a greater range.Skirmish:Biv is pretty cool, I like him as a counter to the 14+ cost characters. I was hoping he'd be a trooper, but brawler/hunter isn't bad.I'm not sure about Saska, 6 points is a lot for what you get. Edited June 3, 2015 by Deadwolf -
assuming we meant different things. If what you say about just enabling proxies is true, I mentioned that as well, and a whole product released just to allow proxy/alt art cards seems like a sledgehammer to crack a walnut. You want to use Big as a heavy trooper? Kayn Somos as a Stormtrooper leader? Great! I think that would be cool, it's always nice to have some variety on the table. Plus Biv is a dude. Will they look weird next to Legion figs? I don't know, possibly, but until I see them in the flesh, I can't comment on that. At home, and in your FLGS, I can't imagine anyone needing official blessing to use Gideon as a unit commander. I've seen weirder things proxied in for different games in the past, and as long as everyone's clear what things represent (and Biv -
None of the heroes are usable as "allies", this expansion nor core set. If you're not using Biv and you end up playing his mission in the mini-campaign, there is an alternate reward you earn (credit) instead of Biv's special Reward Card. As for Hero count, yes, 2 to 4 heroes, just like the normal campaign (2 heroes gain Legendary, 3 heroes gain Heroic). -shnar
