To the best of my knowledge no tournaments have been run, or are planned, at my LGS. I might be willing to take the initiative and try to organize this myself. What is involved in organizing an official tournament. Who do I need to contact?

You can order your tournament kit through most LGS'es. They're $20 (not intended for resale), and come with an info packet for everything you need. You could offer to put the money down on the kit for them to run an event, in exchange for store credit upon event completion. If you're in california (specifically the bay area) we're going to be running tournaments starting next month.

print out fleet roster sheets or just use index cards. familiarize the FAQ/errata and tournament packet. Find another knowledgeable player to co run it with you. that's about it i ran my first event for armada on Saturday and its pretty easy.
