Leia....

I still think we didn't go far enough with Flotillas....expanded hangar bays need to be removed from flotillas...Leia is just going to bring a new level of obscene.

I mean, it works, but you can do the same thing now by taking a token first turn and then commanding 4 squadrons with it. What exactly is so crazy broken about it? With only 134 points of squadrons, and let's say several flotillas built that way, it's really not a difficult build to counter, especially as Leia can't be on a flotilla in the first place.

What has Leia to do with EHB? Did you just get comboed by a suicide flotilla and you need to put some steam out?

The number of fighters in a flotilla is still 2, no matter how many of them you can activate. Plus is a real drawback doing this with more than two fighters since it means a lost in deployments.

AND, fun fact. Did you know that gozantis do exactly the same, but better, since it guarantees with tua + ECM that the fighters will be dropped in position?

Hi xerpo

I think you've some confusion there between Rapid Launch Bays and Expanded Hanger Bays

Yep, my bad sorry. Thanks for spotting.

I'd add that assuming we are talking about RLB's, a Tua/ECM goz isn't necessarily the way to go, since it precludes taking Fighter Captain in the officer slot to allow the squadron depoyment post manuever.

Or you take 2 shots at it and earn yourself 60+ points.

I'm discussing the idea of expanded Hangars + gr75 + leia = 4 x-wings being pushes my a GR75 that is 18 points.

I could see one EHB flotilla with Leia, plus a good fleet that can benefit from high powered commands. More and you start losing efficiency in that command when you lose squads.

i like that.

if Leia is going to prove viable, it is precisely because people found ways to integrate high powered commands into combos like this.

From what @Snipafist was telling me of using Tarkin, we actually want Boosted Comms over EHB as it'll let us get more commands from a distance. Given that Tarkin is like a reverse Leia, I can see the reasons behind it.

I'm also looking into Nav Team on my CR90 to see if I can get into some place even more annoying than thought possible; will it work? No idea.

I will say it does somewhat depend on how you intend to use your squadrons, but my experiments with Tarkin+Gozantis led me to much prefer Boosted Comms for a squadron-heavier fleet as your commander gives you plenty of squadron command muscle but the nature of flotillas makes them shy about following your bombers into trouble so Boosted Comms helps you use that muscle more intelligently.

If you're bringing a smaller fighter wing and just want one flotilla to scream at your fighters until they're dead (say like Jan + 3 X-Wings) then an Expanded Hangar Bay GR75 would be okay.

Probably right about Comms > EHB. Being able to push 4 squadrons is nice, but pushing 3 at long range seems more sustainable. Guess it depends on whether you want a bigger alpha strike and then a turn of activating in the squadron phase vs continued activations.

And there should be alternate art for Rebel officers/Liaisons.

And the Rebels should have a designated carrier unit.

The Pelta. All fighters follow me, expanded hangars or boosted comms, raymus if you want to push an extra or flight commander if you want it later (or both, with the title!) Pelta is pretty sweet.

You take me too seriously good sir. We will soon have the Imperial Light Carrier Expansion. I was suggesting the Rebels have a unit called "carrier" as well.

Rebels don't deserve a dedicated carrier-type ship. They're scum rejiggering existing hulls Mad Max-style. Let them suffer with their repurposed cruise liners and space semi-trucks.

If you want *real* starships, join the Empire.

HA! Agreed. The only place I recognize the light carrier form is Star Wars: Rebellion. It was the first unit the AI would send to harass my loyal Imperial subjects.

I'll just paint "Yavaris" on the side of space semi truck and it'll be the best carrier ever

Airbrush it, it'll hold up better I think.

I'm thinking Leia is going to be a great Jack of all trades commander, where you have some squadrons but you don't go super crazy heavy into them, just able to push more than you thought possible while still focusing on other options and things you can do. As opposed to Tarkin or Garm who want high command ships for the token, Leia is gonna want low command ones to maximize the ability to change command on the fly and maximize what she's doing this turn.

But those are Expensive.

Can we compromise on RattleCan?
