Using Tilescape™ DUNGEONS modular terrain system with Descent?

By tooncraft, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I think Rocket Pig Games Tilescape DUNGEONS tiles would be perfect terrain to use for Descent.

It is a 1 inch grid system so I would think it would be a perfect way to go 3d and multi-level for the game.

Their Kickstarter is still LIVE.

This site isn't really for shilling KS projects. Cool company logo. Doesn't look anything like Flying Wild Hog Games's.

The problem for me with these types of solutions is the fact they don't port at all the art on the tiles. While I´m sure drawing coloured lines to replicate terrain is easily doable, you cannot realistically paint 3D-printed tiles to replicate the design of each Descent tile, which is a huge deal for me when it comes to the game overall appeal.

For the D&D adventure games it's fine because most tiles have basic art so you could just paint whatever you want, and deal with the special ones (arcane circle for instance) separately. For Descent, the art is a lot more complex and contributes to the immersion.

What I would be a lot more inclined to purchase (I have no 3D printer, though) is a set of walls to put around the tiles. Firstly the art on them is irrelevant, secondly they would sort out a lot of in-game issues, as the black border on the tiles is far from being visible in some cases whenever tiles have to be put close to each other in some of the quests.
