Speculating about new AOs

By tiborvadovan, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hi,

With AH on hold between expansions and campaigns, I though I might start a little speculation about new AO to be included in a next big box expansion.

Checking my CoC RPG manual (on which AH is largely based), I see there are only 4 AO that haven't been done yet:

-Zoth-Ommog - AO buried deep in R'lyeh

-Ubbo-Sathla - Aboth-esque entity

-Cyaegha - Evil tentaculated eye :)

-Daoloth - The render of veils

Maybe we will get to see these, if they actually come up with a new expansion?

And still, looking at the CoC source material, after Dunwich, Kingsport and Innsmouth, we might be headed for "Goatswood Horror" ( or "Severn Valley Horror") next.

regards,

tibor

Cyaegha

While Cyaegha stirs in his slumber, no clue tokens appear on the board. The penalty to close gates is equal to the investigator's Fight or Lore skill, whichever is greater.

-6 combat modifier, physical & magical immunity (to the first player, Cyaegha is merely physical & magical resistant)

Attack:

When Cyaegha attacks, each investigator must discard 5 eldar signs or be devoured. The number of elder signs increases by 1 every time someone complains about Cyaegha being too easy.

No. Five. Yeesh. Newbie ;')

5 and someone would find some way of one-shotting him with personal stories, items, and research materials, so our crack design balance team has given him a doom track of 10.

To compensate for such an outrageously long doom track, add one doom token every time a monster comes into play.

Don't be ridiculous, just have him remove all investigators clue tokens when they enter battle.

This is already covered under his "no clue tokens appear on the board while he stirs in slumber" rule.

There are still encounters, Tomes, etc. that can net you Clues, as well as starting Clues and Patrice.

Obviously our designers have made him too easy then!

SIX elder signs or be devoured!
