Homebrewed RtL Plot: The Great Plague

The Great Plague

0XP Card: Infected Waterways

- Played at the start of the game.

- A Plague has begun to spread across the land through the rivers of Terrinoth. Anytime the Heroes use a water trail to travel to a location or city, each Hero gains 1 Poison token per trail.

- A Lt at a city may place a Poison token on that city rather than a seige token. The city's Temple rating is reduced by 1 for each Poison token on it.

- The Heroes may remove one Poison token each week from the city they are currently in.

- If at the start of the game week, a city has 4 or more poison token on it, the city is abandoned and considered razed.

15 XP Plot card: Shortage of Medicine

- Healing potions have become scarce as the Plague worsens across Terrinoth.

- The Alchemist rating for all cities is permanently reduced by 1.

0 XP Plot card: A City Falls...

- The first city of Terrinoth is abandoned due to the spread of the plague.

- Can only be played if there is an abandoned city on the board.

- The OL gains CT for the abandoned city as though it were razed.

- Heroes passing through any abandoned city automatically have an Encounter with looters. The OL draws Encounters until a Green level combat Encounter is drawn.

0 XP Plot card: The Plague spreads.

- Can only be played if there are two abandoned cities on the board.

- A second city is abandoned due to the spread of the plague.

- The OL gains CT for the abandoned city as though it were razed.

- Heroes passing through any abandoned city automatically have an Encounter with looters. The OL draws Encounters until a Green or Yellow level combat Encounter is drawn.

0 XP Plot card: The Plague Becomes Dire...

- Can only be played if there are three abandoned cities on the board.

- A third city falls victim to the plague.

- The OL gains CT for the abandoned city as though it were razed.

- Heroes passing through any abandoned city automatically have an Encounter with looters. The OL draws Encounters until a Green, Yellow or Red level combat Encounter is drawn.

0 XP Plot card: Panic Strikes Terrinoth!

- Can only be played if there are four abandoned cities on the board.

- A fourth city falls victim to the plague.

- The OL gains CT for the abandoned city as though it were razed.

- Due to the Plague, trade has become disrupted. The market value of all cities is permanently reduced by 1.

20 XP Plot card: Tamilir Infected!

- Playable once there are four abandoned cities on the board.

- Tamilir has become infected with the plague as refugees from the abandoned cities flood the streets.

- Place a Poison token on Tamilir when this card is played. Place an additional token each of the following weeks. At the start of the week when Tamilir has more tokens than its Temple rating, the city succumbs to disease and is considered abandoned.

- Heroes may remove 1 Poison token each time the party performs a Visit action and pays 200 Gold while at Tamilir during a game week.

- Heroes may remove 2 Poison tokens if all Heroes spend a week Training in the Temple.

- The Heroes may enter the OL's Keep at any time once this card is in play.

- If Tamilir is abandoned, the OL has completed his plot and wins the game.

I like the plot idea. It sounds similar to the other plot where you have to raze 4 cities, but i like this one more. The only way I can see to live through the last card is to purchase the upgraded temple, the staff of the wild, and then go all out at the Overlord's Keep.
